Beauty or Beast?
Our beautiful planet
So full of green
Hides the ugliest secrets
The naked eye's ever seen
On the surface there are flowers
Trees, a blue sky,
A visionary image
Deceiving the eye
A picture of plenty
A planet of wealth,
With a huge population
Dwelling with stealth
The knowledge and perception
Which our senses previse
We are fully aware
Of the earths big surprise!
It isn't all beauty
The true horror is immense
The world is a monster
In every sense
Man cannot control
The elements that be
Because in this world which we live
All's not what you see
There is pain and turmoil
Conflict and sorrow
Suffering from yesterday
Dread for tomorrow
She has a bad temper,
This planet we do cherish,
In the blink of her eye
She could make mankind perish!
Many a mere mortal
Has suffered the wrath
After losing their way
On mother natures path
So remember the next time
You are admiring the view
That what your eyes observe
May not be quite true
For the beauty that's before you
Upon which your eye does fall,
Remember that this beauty
may not be beautiful at all!
